Just as they'd done with Tate, who was removed put of Teresa so Kristen could give birth to him (Brady's child). But right before removing baby mackenze out of Sarah, Dr. Rolf told Kristen she was finally pregnant of her own, which happened when she wore that Nicole mask and seduced Brady. MacKinze died in the car crash, that also killed Adrian, who was driving Sarah to the Hospital. At the time, Maggie was set up by Milo to appear like a drunk driver, since he caused the crash while kidnapping Maggie for ransom from Victor.
Btw, Xander was ready to give Kristen Dimera gave his mom ran her over and paralysed Srah, and set up Brady to take the fall. Kristen got rid of the car (evidence), but Brady turned himself in. Later he led Kristen to believe he would be with her again if she just gave Sarah the serum with no strings attached, so she did. Btw Xander intended to beat Brady to death with a baseball bat, but his mom stopped him.
